“The kids are the ones paying the price,” Aislinn Clancy responds to TDSB proposal to increase class sizes for students with disabilities
June 16, 2025
KITCHENER — Ontario Greens’ deputy leader and MPP for Kitchener Centre Aislinn Clancy released the following statement in response to the recent TDSB proposal to increase class sizes in specialized programs for students with disabilities to cope with the provinces 2025-2026 budget cuts.
“As a former school social worker, I’m deeply concerned that the TDSB is being forced to increase class sizes in programs serving students with disabilities due to a lack of funding.
The Ford government’s chronic underfunding of our education system continues to disproportionately impact the students who need the most support. Once again, it’s the kids who are paying the price.
This move will put both students and educators at risk. Teachers are already stretched thin, trying to meet the needs of high-needs students with limited resources.
The Ford government must immediately invest in Ontario’s education system to protect student and teacher well-being and to ensure all children have access to the life-changing power of education.”
