Schreiner calls for fair wages for home-care nurses at ONA rally
April 16, 2025
QUEEN'S PARK — Ontario Greens Leader Mike Schreiner, alongside Kitchener-Centre MPP and Deputy Leader Aislinn Clancy, addressed VON home-care nurses and healthcare advocates at an Ontario Nurses Association rally in front of Queen’s Park this morning. He called on the Ford government to put people over profits, and stop the American-style privatization of healthcare.
“VON home-care nurses are overworked and face increasing workplace violence, and yet, their wages have declined by 14% over the last decade,” said Schreiner.
“The Ontario Greens will continue to fight in the legislature and hold the Ford government accountable to the workers who care for us. It’s time to stop the American-style privatization of health care, and demand equal pay for home-care workers and raise wages for all nurses,”
