MPP Clancy calls on Ministers Calandra and Parsa to address growing autism program waitlist

QUEEN'S PARK — Aislinn Clancy, MPP for Kitchener Centre and Ontario Greens Deputy Leader, spoke today alongside parents of children struggling with lack of autism support in schools, and the Ontario Autism Coalition:

“I’m calling on Minister Calandra and Minister Parsa to finally fulfill their government’s promise from over 6 years ago to clear the growing autism program waitlist.

As a former school social worker, I know the challenges families, students and educators face. They need support now.

Unfortunately the issue has never been worse, and the troubling stories shared by the parents today highlights the challenges students with autism are facing. Their safety and wellbeing is at risk.

Inclusion without support is abandonment.

Ontario Greens stand with parents, students and educators and will continue to hold this government to account on this important issue.”
