Schreiner calls for people over profits at ONA rally

QUEEN'S PARK — Ontario Greens Leader Mike Schreiner addressed nurses, hospital workers and healthcare advocates at an Ontario Nurses Association rally outside Toronto General Hospital this afternoon, calling on the Ford government to put healthcare workers first and improve staff ratios to ensure patient safety.

“Healthcare workers are overworked and under-appreciated, many are burning out, and the result is that hallway healthcare continues to worsen across the province,” said Schreiner.

“It’s time to put people over profits in healthcare, stop the privatization and care for the workers who care for us.”

Ontario Greens will return to the legislature on April 14th where they will continue working hard to advocate for healthcare workers and better public healthcare.
