Green momentum swells in Kitchener Centre ahead of election day

February 27, 2025

KITCHENER — Ontario Greens Leader Mike Schreiner joined Deputy Leader and Kitchener Centre candidate Aislinn Clancy as momentum in Kitchener builds ahead of tomorrow’s election.

“I’ve knocked on every single door in this riding, and what I’ve heard from my neighbours is that people want someone who’s going to fight for them at Queen’s Park,” said Clancy.

“They’re getting gouged on their rents, groceries and heating bills and they want someone to stand up for our community. While Doug Ford is focused on favours for billionaires, I’m focused on being a voice for my community.”

Clancy’s campaign has delivered almost 2,000 signs to voters, knocked on more than 20,000 doors and made nearly 40,000 calls to voters.

“Aislinn’s track-record as MPP has always been about putting Kitchener first, and what I’m hearing at the doors is that people want her to keep fighting for them,” said Schreiner. “I always say at Queen’s Park that I’m not her boss – the people of Kitchener Centre are.”

Progressive voters who have formerly voted NDP or Liberal are rallying behind Clancy’s campaign because they know that she is best-positioned to stop Doug Ford’s destruction and be an advocate for Kitchener Centre residents.

“I’ve voted for the Liberal party before, but I think it’s important to vote for a progressive candidate who’s most strongly positioned to win the seat,” said retired economist and long-time Kitchener resident Ray Gormley.

“Aislinn is absolutely the strongest candidate on the progressive side.”
