OSSTF/FEESO endorses Mike Schreiner
February 23, 2025
GUELPH — Ontario Greens Leader Mike Schreiner has received an endorsement from local representatives from the Ontario Secondary School Teachers' Federation (OSSTF/FEESO) ahead of the February 27 provincial election.
“The Green Party of Ontario has put forward a strong platform that prioritizes students, investments in public education, and the protection of all essential public services—priorities that have been neglected for far too long. Mike Schreiner has consistently stood with our members, advocating for well-funded, high-quality public education at Queen’s Park. His leadership and commitment to education workers, teachers, students, and their families make him a vital ally in the fight to fully fund Ontario’s schools,” said OSSTF/FEESO President Karen Littlewood.
“We continue to welcome Mike’s advocacy and leadership at Queen’s Park as it relates to the growing concerns surrounding the state of public education in Ontario,” said Tracey Mackie-Viletstra, speaking on behalf of the OSSTF/FEESO District 18 Executive Council.
“We know that Mike is a strong advocate and ally in the fight for a better and properly funded public education system in Ontario.”
“After spending time on the road, it’s great to be back home in Guelph and an honour to have the support of educators working to build a fairer Ontario for our kids and for future generations,” said Schreiner. “Greens are committed to reversing Doug Ford’s $1,500 per student cut to education.”
“One of the issues top-of-mind for many today is ensuring that their kids have access to quality education. I look forward to continuing to work closely with educators and OSSTF to lower class sizes, hire more educators, increase mental health supports for students, and reduce violence in our schools.”
