Ontario Greens would lower taxes for everyday Ontarians and make the richest pay their fair share
February 7, 2025
PARRY SOUND — Ontario Greens announced they will cut income taxes for people making under $65,000 annually while ensuring the rich pay their fair share.
“In Doug Ford’s Ontario, the rich are getting richer while everyone else is struggling just to get by,” said Ontario Greens Leader Mike Schreiner. “So much of his time in office has been spent doing favours for billionaires and big corporations like Galen Weston and Loblaws. It’s time for that to change.”
Ontario Greens’ would make life more affordable by cutting taxes for people making under $65,000 a year – saving Ontarians up to $1,700 annually – while raising taxes on individuals in the top tax bracket.
“While Doug Ford is cutting cheques for billionaires, we’ll make the rich pay their fair share so everyday Ontarians can get a break,” said Schreiner.
“Every day I hear from people in Parry Sound–Muskoka who could use a break on their taxes to help pay the bills. If you’re someone who’s struggling to afford your home or put food on the table, this plan is going to make your life more affordable,” said Ontario Greens Deputy Leader and candidate for Parry Sound–Muskoka Matt Richter.
