Mike Schreiner visits Wellington–Halton Hills on Local Champions Tour to show support for rural communities
January 18, 2025
CENTRE WELLINGTON — Ontario Greens’ Leader Mike Schreiner joined Centre Wellington Councillor and local Green candidate Bronwynne Wilton in Wellington–Halton Hills as part of his Local Champions Tour. The Tour highlights the Ontario Greens’ support for local communities and spotlights the strong local leaders running for the party in the next provincial election.
“Rural and small urban communities like ours play a vital role in Ontario’s local economy and have so much more to offer,” said Wilton. “We need to make sure that the voices of farmers and local business owners are being heard in Queen’s Park and that the concerns of our community are being taken seriously – that includes protecting farmland and supporting our local ag sector.”
“While Doug Ford continues to ignore the concerns of small communities by pushing ahead with his plan to destroy prime farmland and spends billions on wasteful projects like Highway 413, Bronwynne is unafraid to speak up for her community,” said Schreiner.
“Her knowledge and experience leading municipal initiatives will make her an effective champion for people in Wellington–Halton Hills and rural Ontarians across the province.”
Schreiner and Wilton held a meet and greet to hear directly from local voters and attended the Wellington Beef Farmers’ Annual General Meeting.
Schreiner continues his Local Champions Tour in Kitchener Centre with Deputy Green leader and Green MPP Aislinn Clancy.
