Ignacio Mongrell nominated as Ontario Greens candidate in University–Rosedale

TORONTO — Ignacio Mongrell has been nominated as the Ontario Greens’ candidate in University–Rosedale.

Mongrell is an entrepreneur at heart, innovator, and startup coach who serves as Assistant Director at ICUBE at the University of Toronto. In this role, he supports entrepreneurship initiatives focused on sustainability and social impact.

“We need bold, creative solutions to tackle Toronto’s affordable housing crisis, and meet the needs of people in our community,” Mongrell said.

“The Ontario Greens have a real plan to invest in more affordable housing, better healthcare, and more sustainable communities. I’m proud to run under their banner in the next provincial election.”

“Ignacio is a well-known champion for people at the University of Toronto,” said Ontario Greens’ leader Mike Schreiner. “He’s someone you can trust to propose real solutions that put people before profits and benefit those that need support the most.

Mongrell is an outspoken champion for LGBTQ2S+ students, staff, and faculty at the University of Toronto where he serves as Chair of Positive Space.
