January 16, 2025
OTTAWA — Sheilagh McLean has been nominated as the Ontario Greens’ candidate in Nepean.
McLean is a retired human resources professional with 33 years experience working in federal departments including, Health and Welfare Canada, the Canadian International Development Agency and the Public Service Commission.
She’s been involved with Green politics since 2015 and has served as an executive member on federal and provincial Green Party associations for more than 8 years.
“We need a new way of doing politics,” McLean said. “We need more local candidates who understand their communities and who care about the people and places we love.”
“Sheilagh recognizes the need for new, lasting solutions to address the concerns of people in Nepean,” said Ontario Greens’ leader Mike Schreiner. “I know her energy and enthusiasm will make her a strong voice for her community at Queen’s Park.”
McLean has lived in Ottawa for more than 50 years and remains active in her community as a volunteer and local yoga teacher.
