“Abandoning the people who need them most”: Mike Schreiner responds to AG report

QUEEN'S PARK — Ontario Greens Leader Mike Schreiner released the following statement in response to the Auditor General’s 2024 annual report.

With every step this government takes, they walk further away from the people who need them the most. Time and time again, they have abandoned the people of this province, putting profits before people.

We see it with this government abandoning housing with their total lack of due diligence when reviewing MZOs that could pave over our farmland and wetlands without any consultation whatsoever, putting billionaire speculator profits first when people desperately need affordable housing.

We see it with their cruel and indiscriminate CTS closures that disproportionately impact rural communities and the North where there are limited addictions healthcare services.

We see it with the ballooning cost of the Ontario Place redevelopment, which has always been about putting insider profits before everyone else.

What Ontario needs is a government that puts people before profits. The Ford government has made it clear that they are not that government.”
