“This government has abandoned us”: Schreiner responds to FES

QUEEN'S PARK — Ontario Greens Leader Mike Schreiner released the following statement in response to the tabling of the 2024 Fall Economic Statement.

“I want to ask the people of this province: are you getting what you deserve from this government?

Costs are up, homes aren’t getting built, climate change is worse and our healthcare system is failing those of us who need it most.

The Ford government has abandoned us. All the things that we should be able to expect from provincial governments – to keep our neighbours housed, to make sure homes get built, that doctors are available, mental health is accessible – the Premier has walked away from.

People expect better. Greens are fighting for more homes people can afford in communities they love, stronger protections for renters and a commitment to end homelessness by building deeply affordable housing.

We’re fighting for a government that puts people before profits and fights for every Ontarian. The Ford government is not that government.”
