Aislinn Clancy nominated as Ontario Greens’ candidate for Kitchener Centre

October 5, 2024

KITCHENER — Ontario Greens Deputy Leader and MPP for Kitchener Centre Aislinn Clancy has been nominated as the Ontario Greens’ candidate in the next provincial election.

“I was elected on a promise to be my constituents’ voice at Queen’s Park – to fight for better housing, childcare and transit for our community and to stand up against Doug Ford’s injustices,” said Clancy.

“That’s exactly what I’ve strived to do during my time as MPP, and with my community’s support I’m ready to continue that fight.

“I’m so grateful to our Kitchener community for putting their trust in me, and I’m excited to keep pushing for a government that puts ordinary people first.”

“Aislinn has shown exactly what a strong community champion can get done for her constituents,” said Ontario Greens leader Mike Schreiner. “She’s fighting hard to protect renters, preserve prime farmland in Wilmot Township, and bring two-way, all-day GO to Kitchener.”

“I can’t wait to continue working with her to build a fairer, more caring province.”

Clancy’s nomination will be followed by Deputy Leader and former candidate for Parry Sound-Muskoka Matt Richter’s. Richter will be nominated as the candidate for Parry Sound-Muskoka on Saturday, October 19.
