Mike Schreiner nominated as Ontario Greens’ candidate for Guelph

September 27, 2024

GUELPH — Ontario Greens Leader and MPP for Guelph Mike Schreiner has been nominated as the Ontario Greens’ candidate in the next provincial election.

“I’m deeply grateful for the people of Guelph who have trusted me to represent their values and vision at Queen’s Park,” said Schreiner.

“I love this community, and will continue to work hard for a fairer future that puts everyday people before deep-pocketed insiders.”

Over the past six years, Schreiner has worked alongside local leaders and community advocates as a champion for delivering funding for supportive housing, hospital expansion, and non-profit LTC beds for his constituents while holding the Ford government accountable for its failures.

“People in Guelph tell me they want me to continue pushing for solutions to the housing crisis; for investments in healthcare, education and poverty reduction; and for climate solutions that protect our farmland and waterways,” said Schriener. “With the support of my community, I’m going to work hard to continue bringing these issues to Queen’s Park.”

Schreiner has been the MPP for Guelph since 2018 and the leader of the Ontario Greens since 2009.

Schreiner’s nomination will be followed by Deputy Leader and MPP for Kitchener Centre Aislinn Clancy’s. Clancy will be nominated as the candidate for Kitchener Centre on Saturday, October 5.
