401 tunnel an expensive distraction from Doug Ford’s failures on housing

QUEEN'S PARK — Ontario Greens Leader Mike Schreiner responds to Premier Ford’s 401 tunnel announcement:

“Doug Ford will do everything possible to distract from his utter failure to address the housing crisis.

He’ll blame people who can’t find an affordable place to live and say it’s their fault. He’ll try and ban bike lanes. And now he’s proposing a tunnel under the 401 that will cost taxpayers billions, make your commute more expensive and only make gridlock worse. Ford could reduce gridlock on the 401 immediately by paying the tolls of truckers on the 407.

Instead of legalizing housing like Greens are calling for so people can have more affordable choices of where to live, this government is making your life more expensive.

Ontarians want real action and solutions on housing, not another expensive pet highway from Doug Ford.”
