Ford’s AMO speech underwhelming on just about everything

OTTAWA — Ontario Greens Leader Mike Schreiner released the following statement in response to Premier Ford’s announcement at AMO of a new online portal municipalities can use to “upload information about commercial and industrial properties in their communities and provide companies with information about the property.”

“Municipalities are literally begging the province to deal with the housing and homelessness crisis gripping our province, and instead they’re getting an unrelated online portal. This is the Ford government in a nutshell.

What our communities need is a government that sees itself as a real partner. One that’s prepared to tackle decades of provincial neglect by investing in housing and homelessness, mental health and addictions care, and poverty reduction.

Once again, the Premier is more concerned with PR announcements than he is with everyday people, and our communities are the ones left to pick up the pieces.”
