Government neglect leads to early Science Centre closure

GUELPH — Ontario Greens Leader Mike Schreiner released the following statement in response to news that the Ontario Science Centre is closing today due to structural issues with the roof.

“The Ford government could have absolutely taken steps to prevent the Science Centre’s closure, and it chose not to.

Now, residents of Flemingdon Park and Thorncliffe Park are losing a vital community hub with a few hours’ notice, all because the Premier cares more about helping the wealthy owners of a foreign mega-spa than the people of Ontario.

Once again, Ontario families are paying the price for this government’s repeated prioritization of well-connected insiders over everyone else.

It’s deeply unfair, and Greens will continue fighting for a government that puts people before profits.”
