Statement on the beginning of Ramadan

QUEEN'S PARK — Ontario Greens Deputy Leader and MPP for Kitchener Centre Aislinn Clancy released the following statement to mark the beginning of Ramadan.

“Today’s sundown marks the beginning of Ramadan, during which members of the Muslim community from around the world dedicate themselves to a month-long period of reflection, fasting and prayer.

This holy month is characterized by a sense of service, humility and perseverance in times of adversity – attributes that can inspire and motivate all Ontarians.

On behalf of the Ontario Greens, I’d like to wish all members of the Muslim community a happy Ramadan.

As you gather each night for iftar, I hope you can find comfort and joy in the strong bonds of community, family and friendship that we hold in common as Ontarians.

Ramadan Mubarak! May this holy month be bright as ever.”
