Bill 124 repeal first step on a long road to repairing public sector

KITCHENER — Ontario Greens Deputy Leader and MPP for Kitchener Centre Aislinn Clancy released the following statement in response to news that the Ford government has repealed Bill 124.

“Today, the Ford government did what it should have done years ago – but only after multiple court rulings and unprecedented pressure from workers across the province.

We’ve known that Bill 124 was unfair and unconstitutional since the day it was tabled. Now, it’s time to begin the long process of repairing the damage it has caused.

That starts with apologizing to public-sector workers and committing to a future of better pay and working conditions for the people who care for us every single day.”
