Aislinn Clancy named Deputy Leader of the Green Party of Ontario
October 30, 2023
TORONTO — Ontario Greens are pleased to announce that Aislinn Clancy has been appointed as Deputy Leader of the Green Party of Ontario.
Clancy, a Kitchener city councillor and school social worker in Waterloo Region, is Ontario Greens’ candidate in the upcoming Kitchener Centre provincial byelection.
“I am delighted to step into this new role with the Ontario Greens,” said Clancy.
“As a city councillor, I have spent hundreds of hours talking to community members about the challenges we’re facing. Those conversations have made it crystal clear that our community – and our province – is ready for change.”
“I am honoured that Aislinn is joining the Ontario Greens’ executive team,” said party leader Mike Schreiner. “She’s a compassionate community leader with a bold vision for a more caring, connected and climate-ready Ontario.”
“I have loved working alongside her as we gear up to bring another Green voice to Queen’s Park, and I know that she’ll make an incredible addition to our leadership team.”
Already, Clancy’s campaign in Kitchener Centre has been breaking records as the most successful campaign in Ontario Greens’ history.
“Along with my team of dedicated volunteers, we’ve knocked on every door in the riding,” said Clancy. “We’re hearing the same message over and over – Kitchener is ready for change, and Greens are ready to deliver it.”
