What’s a PC fundraising chair doing selling stag and doe tickets?

GUELPH — Ontario Greens leader and MPP for Guelph, Mike Schreiner, released the following statement in response to news that PC Party fund chair Tony Miele sold developers tickets to Premier Ford’s daughter’s stag and doe.

“The stench from Doug Ford’s $8.3 billion Greenbelt scandal gets worse everyday.

For months now, Ontarians have been inundated with near-daily findings about the scandalous details of Ford’s $8.3 billion giveaway.

Today, it’s yet another revelation about the troubling overlap between Doug Ford’s ‘friends,’ Conservative insiders, and the wealthy developers who benefitted from his government’s Greenbelt giveaway.

Why was the chair of the PC party’s fundraising arm selling stag and doe tickets to Ford’s developer friends?

Why is Doug Ford more focused on his wealthy ‘friends’ than helping ordinary people find a home they can afford?

How many more of these stories have to break before we get honest answers from this government?

Distraction and denial aren’t going to deliver the accountability Ontarians deserve.

It’s time for the Premier to return protections to all Greenbelt lands and launch a full, independent public inquiry so Ontarians can get some honest answers.”
