Kitchener choosing Aislinn Clancy as their strong, independent champion
July 19, 2023
KITCHENER — Yesterday, a crowd of Ontario Greens supporters packed into THEMUSEUM in downtown Kitchener for a rally for Aislinn Clancy to celebrate Ontario Greens’ early success in the upcoming Kitchener Centre by-election.
“Even without an election date, our campaign’s energy has been unstoppable,” said Clancy. “Tonight is all about celebrating our strength on the ground and preparing for the road ahead.”
“Our office is a hive of activity. We have hundreds of sign requests flowing in and volunteers out knocking on doors every single day. It’s clear that Kitchener won’t wait to make its voice heard.”
Clancy was joined by Ontario Greens leader and MPP for Guelph Mike Schreiner, Kitchener Centre MP Mike Morrice, and Deputy Leader of the Green Party of Canada Jonathan Pedneault.
“Our communities are hurting. They’re feeling the effects of this government’s refusal to take action on housing, on climate, on healthcare and so much more,” said Schreiner.
“We’re not willing to wait for Doug Ford to call an election to come together and demand real solutions. People want action, and they’re choosing Aislinn as their strong, independent champion for Kitchener Centre.”
We are breathing and seeing the results of decades of inaction on climate,” said Pedneault. “It isn’t just Kitchener that needs Aislinn’s voice at the table – it’s all of Canada.”
