Tara McMahon nominated as Ontario Greens candidate in Scarborough-Guildwood

SCARBOROUGH — Ontario Greens are proud to announce that Tara McMahon has been selected as the candidate for Scarborough-Guildwood in the upcoming provincial by-election.

A long-time resident of Scarborough, McMahon is a proud representative of her community and looks forward to bringing its voice to Queen’s Park.

As a mother of three children, McMahon is dedicated to building vibrant communities that will make Ontario a better place for generations to come. This includes standing up for strong public services, creating good green jobs, and taking serious action on the climate crisis.

“We need a government that treats climate change as the emergency it is. And I appreciate that Ontario Greens actively try to work across party lines to advocate for strong communities where everyone can afford a great place to live.

“Tara is a champion for Scarborough-Guildwood,” said Ontario Greens leader Mike Schreiner. “She has a bold vision for building a more caring, connected, and climate-ready Scarborough-Guildwood, and I’m excited to work with her to make it a reality.”

Tara, a proud member of the 2SLGBTQ+ community, is a hydronic specialist, gas fitter and HVAC designer who has worked in the HVAC and plumbing industry for nearly 20 years. She is passionate about seeing more women get involved in the trades.
