If Ford has nothing to hide, then why won’t he be open and transparent?

GUELPH — Ontario Greens leader and MPP for Guelph Mike Schreiner released the following statement in response to reports that Doug Ford has avoided answering questions about the ethical implications of having developers and lobbyists attend his daughter’s stag and doe.

“The Premier has been given multiple chances to explain the presence of developers and lobbyists at his daughter’s stag and doe, and yet he avoids the topic at every turn.

Ford claims that there’s nothing to see here, but he has repeatedly refused to provide any information about these close personal relationships or own up to their obvious ethical implications vis-à-vis his Greenbelt development schemes.

I agree with the Premier that family matters should be personal matters – in which case, they shouldn’t need to be cleared by the Integrity Commissioner after the fact.

People have questions, and Ford’s refusal to answer them speaks volumes.”
