Schreiner to Ford: building highways is not a climate solution

TORONTO — Ontario Greens Leader Mike Schreiner made the following statement in response to Doug Ford's comments that building more highways is a climate solution:
“The fact that Doug Ford thinks that building highways is a climate solution tells you everything you need to know about his anti-climate, pro-sprawl agenda.
Highways like Highway 413 and the Holland Marsh Highway will supercharge sprawl and climate pollution, harm our health, pollute the air and pave over the Greenbelt. Highway 413 alone will pump 17.4 million tonnes of climate pollution into the air by 2050.
It’s now or never for climate action.
This weekend’s storm is yet another harsh reminder of the climate emergency we are in.
And Ontario Greens are the only party with a climate plan that’s ambitious and practical enough to meet the moment and crush climate pollution.”
