Ontario Greens statement on National Day of Awareness for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls
May 5, 2022
TORONTO — Mike Schreiner made the following statement on the National Day of Awareness for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls:
“On the National Day of Awareness for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls, my heart goes out to the family, friends and community of missing and murdered Indigenous women and girls and to the Indigenous women and girls who have suffered, and continue to suffer from, violence and abuse.
And I want to acknowledge the great grass roots work being done by organizations like the Moose Hide Campaign to combat violence against Indigenous women and girls.
We need to do better.
Ontario Greens are fully committed to the 231 calls to action from the National Inquiry into Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls.”
