Ontario Greens setting the course on mental health conversation in Ontario

April 4, 2022

TORONTO — Ontario Greens are leading the conversation on mental health and addictions at Queen's Park and setting the course on this important issue. And other parties are now finally starting to follow our lead.

“I’m glad other parties are starting to follow our lead on addressing the mental health and addictions crisis,” Ontario Greens Leader Mike Schreiner said. “Mental health is health and should be covered by OHIP.”

Last month, Ontario Greens released the first-ever standalone mental health platform in Ontario political history.

“It’s such a critical issue that all parties should be talking about. It was a crisis situation before COVID-19, and the pandemic has only made things worse.

“Whether it’s on mental health and addictions, the climate emergency, or housing affordability, Ontario Greens will continue to lead the way with real solutions to old problems.

“And we welcome the other parties to follow our lead.”
