Anna Dolan nominated as Ontario Greens candidate in Renfrew-Nipissing-Pembroke
March 7, 2022
RENFREW/NIPISSING/PEMBROKE — The Green Party of Ontario is proud to announce that Anna Dolan has been nominated as its candidate for Renfrew-Nipissing-Pembroke ahead of the 2022 provincial election.
“As a trained architect, Anna understands how we can design communities to be more connected, sustainable and affordable,” said Ontario Greens Leader Mike Schreiner. “She has a deep appreciation for the nature in her community and knows what kind of land-use and housing policies are needed to protect it.”
While studying architecture at Carleton University, Dolan was introduced to the ways that good land-use planning can address the worsening climate emergency.
“We need to reimagine our built environment to be more green, healthy and climate-friendly,” Dolan said. “That means protecting prime agricultural land, wetlands and other sensitive areas by encouraging infill development to prevent endless sprawl.”
As a mother, wife, architect and resident of the Renfrew-Nipissing-Pembroke community, Dolan is passionate about preserving the natural habitat, improving health care and creating a better world for future generations.
“We need a more caring Ontario that protects the places we love,” she said.
Since her retirement, she has volunteered both with an organization that assists new immigrants with finding work in their profession and with a local horticultural society.
