Ford must release decision making advice

TORONTO — Mike Schreiner released the following statement regarding Ford's recent COVID restriction decisions:

QUEEN’S PARK — Mike Schreiner released the following statement regarding Ford’s recent COVID restriction decisions:

“The lack of transparency of this government’s decisions are eroding and undermining public trust at a time when it is needed the most.

People are dying and hospitals are in crisis.

Premier Ford must release the public health and Science Table advice that led to his decision to close playgrounds and institute carding.

What were the recommendations to Cabinet that led to these irrational choices?

Instead of focusing on making workplaces safe and helping essential workers stay home if they are sick like all the experts are publicly recommending, Ford is focusing on areas that have little to no COVID transmission like outdoor recreation. It doesn’t make any sense.

There is no way people will trust the government’s pandemic plan if the Premier is not being honest and transparent with them.

The Premier must follow the science and public health advice if we want to overcome this crisis.

And the people have a right to know what that advice is.”
