Education Minister must take class sizes off the table
January 8, 2020
“The Education Minister should use the New Year to reset the government’s education policy.
Smaller class sizes and quality education go hand-in-hand. The best way to get negotiations back on track is to take the class size increase off the table.
Filling classrooms to the brim and pulling teachers and staff out of schools does nothing but hurt students, especially those with complex learning needs.
After the first year of cuts, schools cannot withstand the further loss of thousands of educators.
If the Minister truly has the best interests of students in mind, he will preserve average class size at 22 students.”
