Ford government must explain inaction on anti-racism file

TORONTO — Green Party of Ontario Leader, Mike Schreiner, issued the following statement after news the government is failing to host a mandatory anti-racism conference:

“The Ford government is flagrantly violating plans that exist to tackle racial inequities in our province. 

People and communities of colour deserve to know why anti-racism efforts are being stalled and ignored. 

Systemic racism exists, and we have an obligation to work hard to end it. 

We all must hold the Premier accountable for his inaction, and we expect a clear response on whether the existing comprehensive anti-racism strategy holds water anymore.”
