Loss of beverage recycling would be a blow to Premier’s litter hype
June 13, 2019
TORONTO — Mike Schreiner released the following statement about the potential loss of the Beer Store recycling program due to Bill 115:
“By refusing to take a responsible approach to expanded alcohol sales, the Premier could be making a mess of Ontario’s beverage recycling system.
Clearly the PCs should spend less time tweeting about beer and more time figuring out how to fill the recycling gap if the Beer Stores close.
In his quest for immediate political gratification, the Premier seems willing to sacrifice a world-renowned recycling program that keeps waste out of our parks and lakes.
This would blow a huge hole in the government’s self-hype about reducing litter and another negative consequence of the Premier’s reckless pet projects.”
