April job numbers disprove Premier’s doomsday talk
May 10, 2019
TORONTO — Mike Schreiner issued the following response to the April jobs numbers:
“The Premier cannot have it both ways. He cannot take credit for stronger job numbers while stoking rumours about a recession. The April job numbers show that, far from the Premier’s economic doomsday talk, pollution pricing has not hurt our economy.
Yet the Premier shows no sign of halting the inaccurate rhetoric or wasting our tax dollars on his campaign to sabotage climate solutions.
Yesterday the Premier and his Ministers refused to answer any questions from the Opposition, instead ramping up their carbon tax misinformation campaign by bringing it up 28 times.
The reality is that pollution pricing works. Other jurisdiction with pollution pricing have seen GHG pollution drop and the economy grow.”
