Decision to cut midwifery funding shortsighted

TORONTO — Green Party of Ontario leader and Guelph MPP, Mike Schreiner, released the following statement in response to government cuts to the College of Midwives of Ontario:

“It is a short-sighted and reactionary decision for the Ford government to cut funding for the College of Midwives of Ontario. The long-term financial costs and reduced health care services will far outweigh any ‘savings’ the government hopes to gain.

This decision is wrong, just wrong.”
