National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women is a day of remembrance and reflection.
Our thoughts are with the families and friends of those as we mark the anniversary of the massacre at L’Ecole Polytechnique, where 14 women lost their lives, and more were injured.
We must never allow the tragedy of that day to be repeated.
Today is also a day for action—action in our personal lives and public action that champion policies supporting women and opposing violence.
Violence against women have negative consequences on our society, communities and families.
We urge all Ontarians to take action today and everyday to address the challenges women face, and to push against the attitudes that lead to violence against women.
