Mental Health Week is an initiative created to increase public awareness and offer support to those suffering from mental illness and addiction.
Each year, one in five Canadians experience issues related to mental health. And although people are becoming much more outspoken about their struggles with mental illness, to this day these issues continue to be met with stigma and intolerance.

We need to do more to prevent mental illness, and expand access to services and support. We need to acknowledge the needs of those suffering so that they can seek help and successfully recover.

Initiatives like Mental Health Week are integral to encouraging further discussion on the subject, but we must continue to take action on these issues so that all Ontarians can lead a happy and healthy life.
