Roger Lohmann, President of the Green Party of Ontario issued the following statement:
This past weekend, the Green Party of Ontario held its 2014 Annual General Meeting and Policy Convention in Toronto. The convention included Provincial Executive elections as well as a Leadership Review.
I am very happy to announce that 96% of voting members approve of Mike Schreiner’s leadership and want him to continue as the Green Party of Ontario Leader. Mike has led the party since 2009 and we look forward to having him continue to bring his courageous leadership, honesty, and integrity to the GPO in service to the people of Ontario.
I would also like to extend a warm welcome to the newly elected members of our Provincial Executive, including Deputy Leaders Linh Nguyen & Mark Daye, Secretary Pauline Thornham, Central Region Representatives Carol Terentiak & Ted Alexander, Horseshoe Region Representatives Kathy Acheson & Jason Hammond, and Northern Region Representatives Kara Flannigan & Tim McKillop.
I anticipate with pleasure working with both old and new members of the Provincial Executive over the coming year to move the party forward and build toward electing Ontario’s first Green MPPs.
I would also like to thank the nominees who made our party more vital by running for a position this year, as well as all of our retiring PE representatives who served for the past two years in the interest of our party’s goal of helping build a healthy, ecologically sustainable, and just economy for all of us.
