Elizabeth May in Guelph For Rally For Democracy
Guelph, Ontario – Elizabeth May, MP for Saanich–Gulf Islands and leader of the Green Party of Canada, will be in Guelph today.
With Mike Schreiner, Elizabeth will visit a local business, take a tour of the city, and finish the day at the Rally for Democracy at the Red Chevron Club, starting at 6:30. More than 150 people have already registered to attend the rally.
“Elizabeth May has been an effective and popular force for change on Parliament Hill,” said Schreiner. “Her constituents have put their riding of Saanich–Gulf Islands on the map. They know that as leader of the GPC, Elizabeth will work tirelessly to tackle both the democratic deficit and the climate crisis.”
Schreiner and May will speak about threats to democracy in Canada and Ontario, the difference one MP or MPP can make, and the important role citizens have to play in reclaiming our democracy.
“Mike Schreiner’s voice is needed at Queen’s Park and the voters of Guelph can make that happen,” said May. “Canadians are tired of political games and are ready to see politicians like Mike who can cooperate and get results.”
