GPO Leader Mike Schreiner issued the following statement on the International Day of Pink:
“Today, International Day of Pink, highlights the importance of our ongoing struggle against bullying, discrimination, homophobia and transphobia in schools and communities.

We must be aware of the fact that bullying exists, but that together, we can stop it. It’s critical to ensure that we celebrate diversity, and that we not tolerate any form of discrimination.

By wearing pink, we take down barriers. The battle against bullying can seem impossible when faced alone. By bringing it out into the open, solutions become possible.

Everyone in our province deserves respect. We especially owe it to our children to ensure our schools are safe for everyone. Let’s all work together to put an end to bullying and discrimination.

I want to thank everyone who stands against bullying today and everyday.”
