THIS Thursday, Bill 39 (“An Act to provide for control by local municipalities over renewable and affordable energy undertakings”) will be voted on to go to the second reading.
If enacted, this bill would turn back the clock on the progress that Ontario has made on Renewable Energy and Energy Conservation.
The Green Party has always supported an affordable, clean, renewable energy future. We encourage you to sign the Change.ORG petition calling for MPPs to vote against Bill 39.
Yesterday Mike met with Premier Wynne to discuss our priorities for the Ontario budget. Affordability is always top of mind for greens. Bill 39 will lock Ontario into an expensive nuclear power future – something we certainly cannot afford.
Please add your voice to the Change.ORG petition.
