PEI Green Party leader stepping down after 7 successful years

Statement from GPO leader Mike Schreiner

“I want to recognize and thank Sharon Labchuk for the fantastic job she has done leading the Green Party of PEI for the past seven years.   Sharon’s work is an inspiration to Greens across Canada.

I admire her leadership abilities, particularly her understanding of environmental issues and her people and organizing skills. I especially appreciate her ability to inspire women to become involved in politics, as the PEI Greens had over 50 percent female candidates in the last election.

Under Sharon’s leadership, the Green Party of PEI has firmly established itself as the third party.   She leaves the party with a strong foundation for continued success.

Thanks for a job well done, and Sharon, I know you will continue to be a force in creating a sustainable future.”
