Re: Wolf Lake EBR Registry Number: 010-7775
Dear Premier McGuinty:
I would like to congratulate your government and especially Minister of Natural Resources Michael Gravelle for canceling plans to remove the forest reserve status from Wolf Lake.
Thousands of Ontarians spoke out to protect Temagami, and we are pleased that your government listened to this outcry.
The GPO remains concerned that the heart of the world’s largest remaining old growth red pine forest remains open to mining. The public clearly wants to preserve this area for our children and future generations to enjoy. Now is the time to permanently protect Wolf Lake by including this unique forest as part of the Chiniguchi Waterway Park.
Sincerely,
Mike Schreiner
CC: Hon. Michael Gravelle
