COBOURG — There are ways to reduce environmentally induced cancer, and to that end, members of Cobourg’s Health Hazards Committee want Mayor Gil Brocanier and his council to take responsible actions like those outlined in the book entitled: “Cancer – 101 Solutions to a Preventable Epidemic.”

Three committee members presented the publication written by Liz Armstrong, Guy Dauncey and Anne Wordsworth to Brocanier this week after committee chair Judy Brown said she thought it should go to people who could act on its contents. Although there are sections geared to individuals, labour and business (with suggestions ranging from using safe personal products, creating a safe home and limiting radiation exposure) there are others specific to cities and governments.
