“Auditor General Jim McCarter’s Annual Report clearly highlights the government’s failure to reduce stress on hospital beds and budgets.

McCarter’s report confirms the Green Party’s strategy to prioritize investments in home care, transitional care and long-term care as a pragmatic way to reduce pressure on hospitals.

Sensible strategies to provide affordable access to quality care for Ontario’s aging population is essential to maintaining a sustainable health care system that our children and future generations deserve.

Ontario must honour our seniors by providing access to quality home care, transitional care and long-term care facilities.

The McGuinty government’s failure to focus on home care means our seniors have fewer choices for quality care, our hospitals have fewer beds available and the health care system as a whole is less efficient and more expensive. Investing in home care improves quality and reduces costs.

It’s time for fresh ideas and a new approach that improves services and the sustainability of the health care system.”

Green Party of Ontario
