Salary: $60,000 per year, commensurate with experience.

OVERVIEW:
The Green Party of Ontario (GPO) is hiring for a full-time writer to support communications and fundraising initiatives. This position will report to the Director of Communications.
We are looking for a skilled writer to support a range of written material. Hours of work may include evenings & weekends – flexibility is required, in particular during the election campaign period.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Major Tasks
- Write copy for a range of external-facing audiences, including, but not limited to: fundraising material, social media and ad content, media-facing content, website, and candidate materials
- Other duties as required
Qualifications:
- 2+ years experience in a communications, journalist, editing or writing role; ideally with experience putting technical or policy information into clear, concise communications that incite action
- Exceptional writing and interpersonal communication skills with strong command of copy editing and proofreading
- Proven ability to meet tight deadlines, flexible with changes in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Strong ability to communicate effectively to various audiences
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office and Google docs
- Experience with political election campaigns or advocacy work a strong asset
- Experience with fundraising letters an asset
- French (verbal or written) an asset
