Mike & Team
I’ve called Northern Ontario home for most of my life. With a background that includes experience in professions and industry from forestry to education, I bring a balanced approach to the role of political representative. I am completing a Master’s of Environmental Science and hold undergraduate degrees from Lakehead University in Education and Biology in addition to a Fish and Wildlife Technician Diploma from Sault College.
As an active member of his community, I work hard to improve the opportunities for youth and adults. Currently, my wife and I teach in Dryden, but we began our careers in the remote community of Slate Falls First Nation. This has developed in me a strong interest in environmental and aboriginal issues, which are both closely intertwined and essential considerations for the northern ridings of our province.
I’ve volunteered for several campaigns as a member of the Green Party and ran as the Candidate for the Kenora Riding in 2014. I’ve knocked on numerous doors and made countless phone calls listening to neighbours and community members outline what is most important to them. These discussions along with a belief in the values put forward by the Green Party of Ontario have helped me complete my first two year term on the Provincial Executive as a Northern Region Representative. I have thoroughly enjoyed this experience and with your support look forward to helping again.
