Position Details

Title: PSM Green Team Lead

Location: Remote in Parry Sound – Muskoka area, with in-person meetings as needed

Type: Part Time, Contract (20hr/week, $20,000-24,000 a year)

Organization: Green Party of Ontario, local Parry Sound Muskoka Constituency Association (CA)

Overview of Role: 

We are currently seeking a dedicated and dynamic Team Lead for Parry Sound Muskoka to support and work alongside the local grassroots volunteer GPO team, and Matt Richter, Deputy Leader. This role is designed for someone who is passionate about political change, committed to community engagement, organized, and skilled in mobilizing diverse groups toward a common goal of electing a Green in the riding in the next election. Capacity Building

  • Stay updated on Green caucus activities and share ways to connect with the local community. 
  • Understand the unique needs and capacities within the PSM Greens Riding Team, and provide targeted support and coaching.
  • Work with the CA to organize and mobilize around opportunities in the riding as they arise. 
  • Support the CA with fundraising efforts throughout the year.
  • Seek strategic opportunities to grow political reach and visibility in the lead up to the 2026 provincial election through rapid response to political issues, voter engagement, advertising, and identify events and issues that are important to the local community– the position would lead some of these pieces and collaborate with the party, the CA, and regional teams to roll out these strategies.

Team Collaboration and Tools Utilization

  • Actively participate in internal meetings with the GPO and maintain regular communication with Deputy Leader, the Riding Team, and GPO.
  • Utilize GPO software and tools proficiently, including databases, project management tools and Google Suite, to keep systems and documents up-to-date.
  • Embrace the variety of responsibilities that come with the role, ready to take on additional duties as needed.
  • Oversee the development and coordination of strong regional teams and develop strategies to increase volunteer engagement and development.
  • Work closely with the volunteer members of the CA Executive and help to manage and coordinate communications within the team.
  • Consider the goal of increasing visibility and reach in the community when developing strategies.
  • Work closely with Communications team to increase reach/visibility.

Support the Deputy Leader

  • Manage schedule of Deputy Leader commitments to optimize his time.
  • Monitor Deputy Leader email and respond accordingly, categorize, and organize.
  • Manage Deputy Leader social Media accounts.

Qualifications:

  • Experience with community organizing
  • Experience with volunteer recruitment and volunteer management
  • Leadership experience; experience with teaching / training / coaching others
  • Experience on a political campaign
  • Experience with fundraising
  • Proven organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Enjoy working with other people, are patient and have a positive, courteous attitude
  • Passion & commitment to social and environmental change in Ontario
  • Proficient in working with various online technologies such as Google Suite, Slack, CRM, databases, etc.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects at one time under pressure
  • Flexibility — we are a small organization of volunteers and staff who take on various roles – we operate as “all hands on deck”
  • Relevant post-secondary degree, or equivalent training, education & experience

Assets

  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to drive within Ontario (travel may be required on occasion to join in-person meetings in the region, etc)
  • Fluency in another language is an asset
  • Understanding and knowledge of local diverse geography and many communities in the riding, including Indigenous communities
