About Robert

Robert Gibson is running to represent the constituents of Peterborough—Kawartha and to ensure that the provincial government will implement environmental regulations to protect Ontario’s wetlands. He is committed to supporting a better pandemic response, challenging urban sprawl, and ending Ontario’s affordable housing crisis.

As a long-time contributor to Peterborough’s independent student newspaper, the Arthur, Robert has reported on environmental issues such as policy deregulation and the vulnerability of Ontario’s wetlands. A strong proponent of local, independent media, Robert also served as the Treasurer and Internal Affairs Commissioner for the Arthur Board of Directors and hosted the Environmental Soup radio show through Trent Radio for a number of years. Robert holds a Bachelor in Environmental Science Studies from Trent University, where he was a proud recipient of the Think Like A Mountain Award from the Society for Ecological Restoration for his outstanding commitment to the environment.

Robert is ready to join Mike Schreiner at Queen’s Park and act as a robust and respectful voice for the residents of Peterborough—Kawartha.
