About Myles

Myles O’Brien joined the Greens to tackle the key issues facing his community of Markham—Stouffville.

Raised in Markham, Myles has called Stouffville home since 2008. He has worked in municipal sustainability roles for the past fifteen years, developing environmental policy and education to help build healthy communities. Myles has contributed to numerous local greening initiatives, including the Whitchurch-Stouffville Community Energy Cooperative, the Downtown Farmers Market, and the Environmental Stewardship Committee. He is currently leading the Greening the Strawberry Festival project.

Through this work, Myles is familiar with how development, affordability, and climate change impact his community, recognizing the essential role governments play in addressing them. As a three-time Green Party candidate, he is dedicated to building a more resilient Markham—Stouffville, where success and sustainability go hand in hand.

Myles holds a Masters in Environmental Studies and a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. He enjoys playing music, shooting hoops, and exploring nearby trails with friends and family.

Myles is ready to stand alongside Mike Schreiner at Queen’s Park to provide the leadership we need to build the Ontario we want.
