About Monica

Monica Henriques firmly believes the Green Party’s plan to support planetary and social ecosystems is essential for a sustainable and bright future in Willowdale.

Originally from Willowdale, Monica obtained a B.Sc. in kinesiology at the University of Waterloo and was an ergonomics consultant in British Columbia and Alberta. After a significant loss, Monica travelled throughout India and New Zealand. She found solace and purpose within an off-grid yoga retreat community, where she lived for several years before returning to Canada with a fresh perspective and the inspiration to make a difference. Monica has since earned a Master’s in social work from the University of Toronto and is a front-line support worker at a residential supportive housing organization. She sees firsthand the critical need for more mental health support, affordable housing, and a healthy environment in her day-to-day life. Monica has also volunteered with GreenPAC and Cycle Toronto.

Ready to put people and the planet first, Monica will act as a strong voice for the residents of Willowdale at Queen’s Park to build the Ontario we need.
